Business & Disability: a European Network
Business & Disability: a European Network grew out of the group of Corporate Partners formed during the European Year of People with Disabilities 2003 (EYPD). We share a determination to work together at European Union (EU) and national level for the furtherance of the aims of the Madrid Declaration.Business & Disability works to raise awareness of the business case for disability, promotes disability inclusion initiatives, and encourages the exchange of ideas amongst business, political actors and people with disabilities. It is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of European society, and in particular as workers, consumers and policy-makers. Our members are at the forefront of industry engagement on issues related to physical Accessibility, e-Accessibility of products and services, and Employment.
The founding members of Business & Disability are Adecco, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Manpower, Microsoft and Schindler. These companies are proud to be working in partnership with the European Disability Forum.
Membership is open to companies and national and EU non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that share the objectives of the Network

De Blauwe Veters® staan daar symbool voor. HIB heeft meer dan 60 projecten in 15 landen die zich in een acute of chronische crisissituatie bevinden.

L’Association Socialiste de la Personne Handicapée est une ASBL des Mutualités Socialistes qui compte 20.000 affiliés en Communauté française (Wallonie et Bruxelles). Brailleliga vzw
In België doen 14.000 blinden en slechtzienden een beroep op de diensten van de Brailleliga, diensten die hen gratis ter beschikking worden gesteld. De blinde of slechtziende komt meestal het eerst in aanraking met de Brailleliga via de Sociale dienst. Bij de sociale dienst kan men terecht voor een brede waaier van sociale dienstverlening, psycho-sociale ondersteuning en informatie over sociale voordelen en tegemoetkomingen.
En Belgique, 14.000 personnes aveugles et malvoyantes font appel aux services que la Ligue Braille met gratuitement à leur disposition. C'est le plus souvent par le Service social que la personne aveugle entre en contact avec la Ligue Braille. Elle y trouve informations, conseils et aide pour tout ce qui a trait aux avantages sociaux, soins médicaux, démarches administratives …
